Dh is asleep…as per

Every year at around this time, Dh takes himself upstairs for a lie down and promptly falls asleep
I have done everything to do with Christmas and cooked today. He put out Santas gifts last night when I took Dc to bed

I would love to have a sleep, but am currently bringing snacks to Dc, playing with them, tidying up toys etc

Anyone else’s do this? Would it bother you?

He will do bedtime tonight and I will have downstairs to myself with cheese & biscuits, a Baileys and films…finally!

Depends if there are young kids in the house that need looking after . Or if the kids are older and doing their own thing then no it wouldn’t bother me

Send your DC upstairs to wake him up.

Tbf Christmas is knackering. Why don’t you have a nap when he gets up?

ToKittyornottoKitty · 25/12/2025 16:27

If he’s doing bed time and you get to chill then then the nap doesn’t sound so bad. The rest of organising everything for Christmas is annoying though

TidyCyan · 25/12/2025 16:31

Not gonna lie, we also have a 7 year old and I just had a nap. DH is playing on the Xbox with ours. It's the big lunch - I can't easily eat a massive roast at 1pm without crashing at about 3! You should swap out with him soon though.

Isit2026yet · 25/12/2025 16:33

My husband is asleep in the basement with the dogs. He did spend 4 hours cooking today so well deserved. You need to get him to cook!

vanillalattes · 25/12/2025 16:35

I really can't get worked up about someone having a nap on Christmas Day.

chickenfucker · 25/12/2025 16:42

Same, but he did all the cooking, so I'll let him off!

Theslummymummy · 25/12/2025 16:58

He's doing bedtime I don't see the problem

Megifer · 25/12/2025 17:09

This is why we eat late. Not had ours yet 😬
