My reasons so far:

Not one offer of help (and 3 loads of washing up down and three meals)

Demands I remove some presents from my own kids stockings as 10 presents in a stocking was “too many”

insistence FC leaves stockings on beds not fireplace

3 additional families and not one bottle of wine brought with them

SIL has brought dog and slept with him in her bed (yes really)

There will be more but deeeeep breath….

Just keep repeating in your head “it’s once a year and they’ll all piss off home soon” 😉

In fact not just wine- nothing. They asked what food they could bring. I said nothing- but alcohol is a given isn’t it?
I did ask other SIL for crackers but she “has forgotten”.

Why are you hosting them if it's this much trouble?

Why are you doing their laundry and providing so many meals? Let your husband host them and do all that nonsense, they're his relatives.

Allocate tasks to everyone - no one gets to sit down whilst there are things which need doing.

Its washing up, from the meals, not laundry :)

Just remember you can say anything you like if you smile and keep a pleasant tone of voice.

Ok. Put your feet up and your husband can easily host his guests. Give it as much thought as he does.

Where else would the dog sleep?

On its own bed! We would bring the dogs bed with us.

Dog bed beside the bed. SIL should have the dog’s bed with her.
