Just that really.

I mean what are they thinking?

9 pm? Get a grip.

BoobsOnTheChristmasTree · 23/12/2025 22:16

They're probably thinking that if people can't be arsed to get there in the what, 14 hours they've been open today, they'll just have to wait til the morning.

RessicaJabbit · 23/12/2025 22:17

What time should they have shut?

youalright · 23/12/2025 22:17

Omg have you rang the police

RunningNananananananananana · 23/12/2025 22:18

I'm sure that's the time ours usually shuts 🤷🏻‍♀️

PennyLaneisinmyheartandmysoul · 23/12/2025 22:19

Arsehole scum workers @soupyspoon dont they know how deliciously dirty they are ? So horribly low?! They should be ready and charged to serve you as long as you want!!

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 23/12/2025 22:21

🙄

whatdoyourdoggoswant · 23/12/2025 22:21

As opposed to?

ApolloandDaphne · 23/12/2025 22:21

What are you thinking? The staff deserve to get home to their families.

suburberphobe · 23/12/2025 22:22

That's on you for not organising your shopping times.

FFS, shops are open all day every day.

Get a diary and time your days and evenings to organise your life. It's not hard.

BillieWiper · 23/12/2025 22:23

Well it's open tomorrow morning? Probably until about 5pm. I don't really see the issue. Tesco shuts later so go there if desperate for something tonight?!

ohsaywhatnow · 23/12/2025 22:27

They are thinking they will not take enough money for them to justify staying open. They are also mindful of the issues/problems staying open late 2 days before Christmas can put on their staff

Toottooot · 23/12/2025 22:29

OMG REPORT REPORT REPORT! To whom I da ken.

AmyDuPlantier · 23/12/2025 22:29

My husband is still at work now (retail) and will be in tomorrow for a 14.5 hour shift. Nice for you if you have the time to be wandering the shops at any old hour though I’m sure. But he and I would both like him to be home now.

theonlygirl · 23/12/2025 22:30

I nearly fell out of bed this morning when I checked the opening times of my local M&S and saw 5am to 11pm. Absolutely awful for shop workers. Good on Lidl.

JudgeBread · 23/12/2025 22:31

Log it with 101

NotAnotherScarf · 23/12/2025 22:31

Bloody selfish people, going home and sleeping, I need to buy a scented candle, some barbeque sauce and a bottle of sparkling water. What are they doing?

What has been ridiculous this week is our town is manic as are the supermarkets every morning since Saturday, but this afternoon I wandered into Lidl got the doings for breakfast Christmas morning and wandered out in less than 2 minutes (one minute spent looking at the Isle of shite)

Arlanymor · 23/12/2025 22:32

They were probably thinking that they have to restock. They were probably thinking that their staff have had a mad week with another big day to follow tomorrow. They probably advertised their opening times well in advance.

rightleftbabysteps · 23/12/2025 22:37

Christmas is on the same date every year.

We get the same amount of notice every year.

You have months to plan.

If you’ve left it until 9pm on the 23rd, you deserve the chaos to be honest.

Hankunamatata · 23/12/2025 22:37

What te do they usually close?

SillyNavyTiger · 23/12/2025 22:39

soupyspoon · 23/12/2025 22:14

Just that really.

I mean what are they thinking?

as opposed to.. what?

what's wrong with 9pm?

23doorsdown · 23/12/2025 22:41

Has it shut earlier than normal?

socks1107 · 23/12/2025 22:42

They are thinking that’s the closing time and staff have homes and families to be at and with

soupyspoon · 23/12/2025 22:42

RessicaJabbit · 23/12/2025 22:17

What time should they have shut?

They normally shut at 10, was relying on it, turned up at 9.30 as were loads of people who then, like us, had to exit the car park!!

I can’t imagine working in retail this time of year. I would want to shut too.
