Closing curtains when going out for the day

Please can you help settle a debate with my DH.

It is 1:30pm and we are going out for the day, we won’t be back until after dark.

One of us decided it would be a good idea to close all the curtains in the house before we go out, even though it’s daytime, because it will be dark when we get back and save a job later. The other thinks it’s a bit odd to shut the curtains while it’s still daytime and we can just do it when we get back.

YANBU it’s a sensible thing to close them before you go out
YABU it’s strange, just close them when you get back later

I must admit when we got home this evening I was glad to have one less job to do and it was very cosy! He wins.

Just close one of each pair of curtains then everybody will be happy. 👍

I close bedroom curtains and pull the downstairs ones closer together. I'm keeping the heat in 🙄

This is not die in any kind of ditch worthy

If you have a farm and more chores than I can think about, I'd understand about the "one less job" , but a bog standard house and easy life?

I am bit puzzled by the hardship of having to deal with curtains.

Imagine living on the continent where they have curtains AND shutters 😂

Why is it? They don't like being left in the dark. I also leave music playing for them.

How do you know what type of music they like?

why? I do it too.

Light on during the day, house dark at night. Most people do!

I light my house to see daylight so I’m a curtain open person.

Closed curtains in the day time tells everyone you are out!

We have Tapo so I turn them on at dusk
