Waitrose Entertaining for Christmas

Devotees of Waitrose will know that in order to "guarantee " any of their Entertaining range for Christmas delivery it had to be ordered before the 15th December. After which you couldn't change your order.
Today's shopping delivery is minus their partridge and pear pate. We rang the store and they said there was a "shortage " and apologised.
I realise it's not going ruin Christmas but it is annoying. Wonder if it's just pate or whether there are other Entertaining "shortages".

Oh I hope not, my turkey and a special order cake are due tomorrow morning!

My parents didn't get their turkey last year through Waitrose Entertaining. They didn't even try to make it up to them.

@C0rner oh no … 😫

ConfusedofEssex · 23/12/2025 13:13

Our delivery has just arrived.
All correct apart from the cheese. Due to "supply problems" the brie we ordered replaced by Le Rustique camembert.
Hope your turkey and special cake arrive tomorrow

All ours arrived too, a few (acceptable) substitutions so someone sensible must have been doing the picking!

By the way, if your Waitrose order comes from a dark store/distribution centre, if you could click to order it, you will get it as they have a marvellous thing called “available to promise”, effectively the stock for your order gets earmarked for you. If it comes from a store, you are at the mercy of the picker, so thank you to whoever picked mine last night!

The birthday cake looks lovely, gammon slightly too big but will get eaten, turkey crown looks on the small side for 8 ( says it serves 12, I’m a notorious overestimator when it comes to portion size) and now well into the prep. phew! Thanks for solidarity on this thread, merry Christmas
