Rejected from job - do I reapply?

I recently interviewed for a role and made it to the final stage, but didn’t get the job as it wasn’t quite the right fit experience-wise.

I’ve since applied for a different role at their sister company. The companies are under the same umbrella, based in the same offices, and share some staff, but this new role is much more aligned with my skills and experience.

I’m wondering whether not getting the first role could negatively affect my chances with this new application ?

Go for it, there's nothing to lose.
Good luck.

No way, I think it’s the opposite!

It will show that you really want to work for the company and you’re willing to keep applying.

People at my workplace tend to be hired if they seem like they’re going to stay, more so over experience and qualifications (although this can often indicate whether they’re likely to stay long term or not) and so my workplace would absolutely see you applying twice as a positive thing.

Although the people interviewing you may not realise that you’ve applied before if it is a big company.

Definitely do not let this put you off!
Good luck 🍀 x

I voted YABU but others who think the same as me voted YANBU so I think I was confused by the voting 😊
