Every single bastard year on the run up to or on actual Christmas Day someone gets sick. 2022 I had flu, 2023 we all had colds, 2024 DS vomited Christmas Day and bang on time this morning my 4 year old started vomiting and has been vomiting all day! I almost didn’t take her to nursery this week to try to avoid it but it was her nativity so thought I didn’t want her to avoid it but I’m kicking myself now for sending her.

i’m emetophobic too so that’s me worrying now for the next couple of weeks.

It’s every single fucking year! Fuck off Christmas and your shit viruses.

see you all in april!

Sympathies.
My dc are 16-21 now and youngest just recovering from a virus. It does get easier. However dc3 has had at least part if not the whole of the last week off every year. Dc head of year actually said last year if your other kids hadn't been in school I'd have suspected you go on holiday every year the last week of term! Nothing could be further from the truth.

I understand. I've posted this elsewhere but 2 years ago we had a miserable Christmas with myself and DS4 downstairs eating Dolmio pasta and DH with the worst quinsy he has ever had. A few years before we were both in bed with flu from Christmas Day until the 1st, unable to walk. I can't wait for DS to finish on Friday and not be in contact with 26 germy 6 year olds.
