Oh God, I swore I wouldn’t be drinking that much but I’ve got some health issues going on and one thing led to another, I felt half decent so I just went a bit silly. I red something that will leave me waking up as fresh as a daisy tomorrow, PLEASE!🙏🏻

Two paracetamol, toast and a brew before bed. I tend to sit up and watch something on the tele to sober up abit then I don’t spin out in bed.

Good Luck!

Lookingforthejoy · 13/12/2025 23:44

Drink loads of water now and take some more to bed

OSTMusTisNT · 13/12/2025 23:45

Fat coke, if you can't stomach it let it go flat first.

You basically need water, salt and sugar.

Frequency · 13/12/2025 23:45

Electrolyte tabs in a pint of water before bed, or an isotonic sports drink, something carb-heavy like toast for supper.

Repeat when you wake up.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 13/12/2025 23:46

Drink water now. Stay awake til you feel sober-ish.

sleepyjessie · 13/12/2025 23:47

One thing I’ll definitely be doing is opening my window. I always get so hot when I come in! I’ll have a piece of toast before I sleep too

Definitely electrolytes in water, keeping sipping if you wake up during the night, two painkillers and some food.

TomatoSandwiches · 13/12/2025 23:49

Bacon roll/sandwich with butter red and brown sauce, can of full sugar Coke, cup of builders tea and a greggs yum yum.

I'm 75 and have been, well let's say, an enthusiastic drinker since my 30s.

The cure for a hangover is time.

Endofyear · 13/12/2025 23:52

A doctor told me to have a big glass of squash and put a teaspoon of sugar and half a teaspoon of salt in it and take 2 paracetamol. Apparently it couteracts the worst effects of dehydration which is what makes you feel so dreadful!

When I was younger, my best hangover cure was a full fat coke, a bacon double cheeseburger and fresh air watching our local pub football team ☺️ followed by hair of the dog at the pub!

Muffsies · 13/12/2025 23:56

I drink a pint of water with a soluble vitamin tablet before bed. Paracetamol in the morning, and a large glass of milk to line my stomach.

The best remedy is laughing and fresh air. You can't really cure the effects, but you musn't let yourself get miserable and mope about because then it beats your arse.

TheChosenTwo · 13/12/2025 23:57

I take an electrolyte tablet in water every day. They are supposed to be good for hangovers too but I barely drink now and I haven’t had more than 2 drinks really since I’ve been taking them.
Dd bought some liquid IV last year which was supposed to be good for hangovers. I tried one and it tasted foul but the tablets I take are less gross.
but essentially water with sugar and salt in it tonight may help you out tomorrow morning if you don’t have electrolytes!

Diet coke, Pickled onion flavoured Monster Munch and a Double Decker.

Oh sorry I just went back to 1990
Still swear by it though

Agreed.

Minicarz · 14/12/2025 00:16

And jam or honey your toàst!

suki1964 · 14/12/2025 00:17

My hangover cure is chocolate milkshake - one of the big bottles, not the really thick stuff

And cold toast with a layer of proper butter as soon as I can manage it

However as I age, I find just never sobering up completely means I never have hang overs anymore ( joke )

Standard early 90s breakfast from the shop on way to school to be fair…and lunch as I recall lol..

JudgeBread · 14/12/2025 00:30

Fat, carbs and sugar always does the trick for me, plus a lot of water.

Pal of mine who I've known and loved and drank with since we were 16 and drinking lambrini in the park always swore by cheese and crackers, builders tea and then a big chug of water before bed after a night out.

Imanexcellentdrivercharliebabbit · 14/12/2025 00:34

Allowing yourself to embrace and wallow in it (no/adult kids and no work that day)

Lashings of tea, orange juice and paracetamol in bed with digestive biscuits.
Then after a nap shower but back to bed with more tea and toast with honks and honks of butter while watching MAFS or some such rubbish sinking in and out of a nap till midday

Up force self to clear up a bit from night before and Walk to pub for hair of dog or two

Eat huge roast ( or whatever you can get down of it )

Home to watch a couple 90s classic film on sofa with curtains drawn with a large glass of red wine that lasts about 3 hours

Cheese pate and biscuits in bed with more telly and endless cups of tea

God I love a hangover

PapaSatanicus · 14/12/2025 00:41

Hangovers are mostly dehydration. So water before bed is ideal. Even better is a soft drink between alcoholic one sin the pub. If all that fails Ibuprofen is far superior for hangovers than paracetamol.

mrsfollowill · 14/12/2025 00:44

Drinking water (better still Lemonade) during the night when you wake up with a raging thirst- I used to take a litre of Lemonade up to bed after a night out and have a gulp when I woke up in the night. Next day a quiche from Costcutter - family sized- bag of Ready salted crisps and 10 cups of tea and a crunchie sorted me right out. In an emergency if I was still rough at tea time a chinese takeaway and 17 cans of Carling or Fosters sorted me out- this is all from when I was 20! I'm mid 50s now and would just lie down in a puddle and die!

Salad cream or ketchup ? Or both ?

Idstillratherbepaddleboarding · 14/12/2025 01:08
