Annoyed that friend did this?

I was seeing a guy and he messed me around and broke my heart a little bit … I then thought the only way to move on is to remove everything and not look at his social media. It’s been about 2 months now.

I’ve been to see my friend today and she asked if I’d heard from him (I haven’t) and she said let’s look at his social media. I said absolutely not, I don’t want to see what he’s doing and she kept pushing it to try and make me look. She couldn’t remember his username so.

Aibu? This man hurt me. I’ve honestly found the only way for me to move on (from anyone) is to not look at their socials, reach out to them etc and it really annoyed me that she didn’t respect my wishes the first time I said no?

Did you give her the name?

Yes, I think she was out of order… and extremely childish. Does she enjoy others drama and sees this as fun to gossip about?

TomatoSandwiches · 13/12/2025 16:06

She doesn't sound like a friend to me.

Thepeopleversuswork · 13/12/2025 16:07

Bizarre, inflammatory behaviour. As a PP said it sounds like she is trying to get a rise out of you and she’s not a friend.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 13/12/2025 16:07

That's extremely weird, why on earth would she want to do that.

I hope she's not a close friend.

If she is, demote her.

Daytimenighttime · 13/12/2025 16:31

As pp have said she doesn't sound as though she is your friend.
She is trying to use your life as entertainment.
I'm sorry you have been messed around by your ex and good for you for trying to move on.
I think you should give this " friend" a wide birth and mix with people who have your good at heart

What a nasty bitch!

CinnamonBuns67 · 13/12/2025 17:30

Yanbu op your friend sounds very childish

Brightbluesomething · 13/12/2025 17:55

She’s not a friend. And you’re doing the right thing. The only way to move on is to cut them off completely. Might want to do this with your so called ‘friend’ too.

BauhausOfEliott · 13/12/2025 18:01

Yeah, that’s a rubbish friend.

Any good mate would practically wrestle your phone from your hands to stop you looking at an ex’s social media!
