How to manage if I get this flu?

I’m a single parent, no support nearby.
I keep reading with this new flu strain people can’t get out of bed for a week or more.

I’m in panic mode as how on earth will I look after my DC (5 and 7) if I do catch it?!

But it can be, that’s the point.

If you have proper flu, you simply cannot get out of bed or even move.

It’s not like Covid or a heavy cold where there are different levels of illness.

Got the flu jab last week but it takes 10 days to take effect ?!!

Gosh maybe I'm wrong but just trying g to stay as fit and healthy as possible

I have been involved in testing this very theory. I have had flu with zero symptoms. I currently have Influenza A and it's like a bad cold. I'm still going to work.

It would take you only a cursory Google to see that flu can be debilitating, present mildly and even shown NO SYMPTOMS WHATSOEVER. It's a virus and presents differently in different people.

Why are you going to work with flu? Just because it’s mild for you doesn’t mean it would be for others? If you didn’t know you had flu then that would be different.

But knowingly spreading it around?

Because my colleagues have it as well. I caught it from them.
