What has happened to Andrex?? It’s so flimsy and yet expensive!! My friend suggested Aldi brand but they didn’t have any in stock today. Please share the brand that you recommend!

I've tried Sainsburys and brands and return to these (plus Aldi is my closest shop).

Cushelle. The Asda shades is a second to that

mrsfollowill · 09/12/2025 23:41

I buy Ocado's own brand- strong enough but not quilty so it won't flush. £3 for 12 rolls.

MyAmusedPearlSquid · 09/12/2025 23:44

Sainsbury's £1.80 for 4!

Crinkle77 · 09/12/2025 23:45

Cushelle but the 6 pack. Big rolls and strong. The loo roll in the bigger packs not same quality.

ComtesseDeSpair · 09/12/2025 23:48

Having trialled all the ones mentioned so far, plus Who Gives A Crap, we’re back on Andrex Ultimate Quilts - it’s not as good as it was, but still the best of the lot. WGAC a close second, with the convenience of being bulk-delivered.

LittleGreenDragons · 10/12/2025 00:00

I will only use Cushelle but the non quilted one.

Just read a pp stating different size packs are different quality so will be keeping an eye on that!

MotherJessAndKittens · 10/12/2025 00:02

Costco if you’re a member.

Okiedokie123 · 10/12/2025 00:03

Tescos cheapest. Anything fancy just to wipe my behind seems like a massive waste of money to me.

horsemadgal · 10/12/2025 00:03

Farmfoods Little Duck SoSoft. 18 in each pack and you get 6 packs for £20. 3 ply.

Landlordfornow · 10/12/2025 00:05

Nicky 3 ply from Home Bargains.

GoodQueenWenceslaus · 10/12/2025 00:12

I go for Asda Shades every time. I prefer it to Andrex, it seems tougher but it's still soft.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 10/12/2025 00:14

Cushelle, especially the tubeless ones - great idea

I have just bought a massive pack of naked paper which is v environmental, but not v appealing looking. I am still contemplating it so can't tell you what it's like

PervyMuskrat · 10/12/2025 00:15

Who gives a crap still the best by far

I wish I'd gone for that'd rather than the brown Naked stuff, but I find the individual wrappings weird in something that's supposed to be environmentally friendly, and also twee

Andrex ultimate quilts for me, too. I really miss Kleenex double velvet. Agree about the Cushelle fat rolls, and Aldi's good.

Having made a choice now, I get the Andrex on subscription from Amazon - I hated trying all different brands to find one that's both soft and strong!

@Okiedokie123 - it gains importance with wear and tear! Hope you never need to care about it.

REDB99 · 10/12/2025 00:21

Another vote for Cushelle. I just bought a 6 pack of Who Gives a Crap to try it and Cushelle is definitely better.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 10/12/2025 00:23

Who gives a crap in this house

Alicorn1707 · 10/12/2025 00:24

@ifyourheart just double check that any loo roll you buy is 3 ply, can recommend these mega rolls

potatocarbcoma · 10/12/2025 00:20

I use Bazoo , order them twice a year. Decent and made of bamboo so doesn’t create dust in bathroom. Very similar to who Gives a Crap but I find that brand name vulgar so looked for something else.

Sorry I've had to laugh at vulgar. Are you from the 1920s! I've not heard anyone use the term vulgar in real life ever.

chattyness · 10/12/2025 00:35

I buy little duck from Tesco online 16 mega rolls for £6.50 atm, it was on offer for £5 last week and often is

This (Amazon link)

Genuine game changer.

Thanks, I’m going to buy this ☺️

pinkpony88 · 10/12/2025 00:54

I like Sainsbury’s quilted. I work too hard to rub my bum with something scratchy 🤣
