What has happened to Andrex?? It’s so flimsy and yet expensive!! My friend suggested Aldi brand but they didn’t have any in stock today. Please share the brand that you recommend!

Who gives a crap. The luxury one.

SwimBikeRunBake · 10/12/2025 08:53

Regina bamboo. It's super soft and strong and has paper packaging, and no wasteful individually wrapped rolls.

Cyclistmumgrandma · 10/12/2025 08:54

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 10/12/2025 00:17

I wish I'd gone for that'd rather than the brown Naked stuff, but I find the individual wrappings weird in something that's supposed to be environmentally friendly, and also twee

We've tried Who Gives a Crap, Bumboo and Naked Paper (used to be Naked Sprout) plus lots of supermarket brands. We have settled on Naked Paper. It's soft enough but doesn't disintegrate all over your bits plus, I like the fact that it's made from bamboo.

I use Bazoo , order them twice a year. Decent and made of bamboo so doesn’t create dust in bathroom. Very similar to who Gives a Crap but I find that brand name vulgar so looked for something else.

Bazoo. 💯

You can choose plain or wrapped, bleached or unbleached.

Really strong paper and better quality imo than Who Gives A Crap (but they are also fine).

I also prefer that the donations go to protecting habitat rather than sanitation efforts but that's personal preference.

Referral code in case helpful (and hopefully proves that I actually use them myself!)

I have a sensitive vulva due to previous cancer issues and ive tried a lot of toilet tissue. I like co-op quilted, cushelle, Andrew is rubbish, really rough and makes my vulva sore. Asda quilted is also pretty good.

Snakehips47 · 10/12/2025 08:59

Cushelle has gone down hill for me, very flimsy,I now always go for Aldi’s quilted Saxon softest.

Wetcoatsandmudagain · 10/12/2025 09:01

HopSpringsEternal · 10/12/2025 00:31

Sorry I've had to laugh at vulgar. Are you from the 1920s! I've not heard anyone use the term vulgar in real life ever.

Definitely vulgar. The name put me right off buying it.

Boogiemam · 10/12/2025 09:08

Don't get the love for Asda Shades. It is sooooo dusty and breaks apart too easily.

snoopythebeagle · 10/12/2025 09:09

Whatever’s cheapest 🤷‍♀️

Dymaxion · 10/12/2025 09:09

Asda Shades so soft , soft and strong.

snoopythebeagle · 10/12/2025 09:10

Wetcoatsandmudagain · 10/12/2025 09:01

Is that you Hyacinth?

Ah you rumbled me 😂

CoastalCalm · 10/12/2025 09:29

We get ours from Amazon in bulk and store in the garage , DH was always insistent on Andrex but has been converted - Softesse Quilted

zingally · 10/12/2025 09:43

I'm still with Andrex Quilted.

I agree it's not as good as it used to be, but it's fine for us. We stock up when it's on special offer.

Okiedokie123 · 10/12/2025 00:03

Tescos cheapest. Anything fancy just to wipe my behind seems like a massive waste of money to me.

until your fingernails go through the paper just when you’re wiping your bumhole yes

Fluffyblackcat7 · 10/12/2025 10:12

Sainsbury's recycled. Occasionally Waitrose recycled if I happen to be in there shopping for something else. Tesco's don't stock recycled loo roll anymore.

Why would anyone want tree cut down trees just so they can wipe their nether end? I don't understand it. The recycled stuff is perfectly good.

Nearlyhealthy · 10/12/2025 10:13

I used to like Waitrose own brand best, but normally get deliveries of loo roll from Ocado and since they stopped carrying Waitrose I’ve been looking for another one without much success. Most of them seem to disintegrate and leave fluff all over my bum, and the ones that don’t block the loo. I finally settled on who gives a crap as the best compromise that doesn’t disintegrate too badly but still flushes.

Bluefloor · 10/12/2025 10:40

Nicky from home bargains, it’s one of the best ones and cheaper than others. Very similar to the quilted Andrex / cushelle.

TheCurious0range · 10/12/2025 10:40

We tried WGAC and I thought it was rubbish really thin. We don't use quilted (very old drains) , I just tend to buy Tesco luxury soft, the extra long rolls.

Silverbirchleaf · 10/12/2025 10:42

Costco own brand toilet roll.

I’m sorry to be childish but I do like your typo. Your best bet is not to let Andrew near your vagina ever again!

MoominMai · 10/12/2025 10:47

ComtesseDeSpair · 09/12/2025 23:48

Having trialled all the ones mentioned so far, plus Who Gives A Crap, we’re back on Andrex Ultimate Quilts - it’s not as good as it was, but still the best of the lot. WGAC a close second, with the convenience of being bulk-delivered.

I bought these in bulk when they were on offer and now I regret it as they shred really badly!

LakieLady · 10/12/2025 10:47

chattyness · 10/12/2025 00:35

I buy little duck from Tesco online 16 mega rolls for £6.50 atm, it was on offer for £5 last week and often is
www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/321034855?srsltid=AfmBOoqMUx3AR8po0-BKKHi2BOSDYQLVXmV-SDfAoyFxwNYi7MPEShND

Same here.

I don't like the scent they insist on putting on it, but I find that if I take the rolls out of the wrapper and stash them in the bathroom cupboard, it wears off fairly quickly.

XWKD · 10/12/2025 10:57

I honestly don't notice. I must be missing something. Maybe I've never tried the good stuff. 🤣
