To ask you about toilet paper

What has happened to Andrex?? It’s so flimsy and yet expensive!! My friend suggested Aldi brand but they didn’t have any in stock today. Please share the brand that you recommend!

Be warned: do not use Aldi scented paper (if they ever bring it back). Ouch.

I think that Andrex is not the quality that it used to be. Asda's own brand is better.

Another vote for costco! Worth the cost of the membership.

Total tangent, but anyone remember that terrible stuff they used to put in public toilets in the 80s? It was like greaseproof paper!

Sainsbury's double rolls. A roll of this lasts forever.

I much prefer Naked Sprout to WGAC. I found WGAC so crumbly and rubbish.

I’m also going to say Kirkland from Costco , we swapped to it years ago after being an Andrex family and it is excellent .

Agree - Andrew quality has really nosedived. The Asda Shades double rolls are great and really last.

I believe it was called Izal (sp?) and was pale green… we had it for a while in our secondary school loos, it wasn’t practical!

100% agree with this. Don't like the WGAC name. Bazoo is lovely. They do tissues too.

Sainsbury's own brand (larger rolls) or cushelle. Morrisons also has a larger roll. I only buy 50% extra rolls, as I hate how quickly the others finish.

Andrex isn't what is used to be. Barely anything on the roll and trading on their reputation, but they're poor value for money.

Soft and strong and £26 for 90 rolls compared to £12 for 24 rolls of Andrex.

Andrex rolls are tiny about half the size of what was once a toilet roll.
Cushelle not quilted or Asda shades depends on offer .

I don’t get the love for WGAC paper, it falls apart while using it.

It’s all crap and thin now, and creates the weirdest amount of paper dust and fluff. I now use a bamboo paper which I buy in bulk. It’s properly thick but also not a single bit of dust/fluff comes off it:

Sainsburys double roles. They last ages

Either Sainsbury's or Tesco double length rolls. I gave up on Andrex when it became so flimsy. I made a note of prices and number of sheets per roll in the various shops and got my calculator out! I should get out more...
