I’m really not feeling Christmas this year

I used to love Christmas, and I should still do really as I have 2 children - but I’m just not into it this year at all. There’s always a big build up to it where we try to pack all sorts in, then the day is never as good me and DH end up bickering cos we’re stressed, or one of us gets unwell, last year DS came down with Norovirus the early hours of Christmas morning! The shops are packed and blasting out the same songs, cold and flu is rife among with loads of other viruses - if I could cancel Christmas and just stay home until spring I bloody would!

Well, do it differently this year? Don’t try to pack too much in, and calm down about it all — plan a really low-key, low-stress day.

I feel similar. I love Christmas usually and was so excited for this one but honestly since December hit I’ve just not been feeling ill. Think I’m just so bloody knackered from trying to keep up with everything that comes with young kids at this time of year plus a demanding job. I’m actually weirdly looking forward to the peace of January for once.

The answer is simple. Don't try to pack loads of things in. Don't go to the shops at peak times (or order online where you can and avoid it entirely).

Chill out and stop putting all this pressure on yourself - the only thing that isn't in your power to control here is illness!

I was meant to add - my auntie also started palliative chemo this morning after only being diagnosed a few weeks ago - so I’m not sure if subconsciously that’s contributing
