Commenting on post partum bodies

I'm 4 months post partum and have been quite unwell after csection and other complications. Up until last month I still looked pregnant, I do still have a bump now but can hide it better.
My sister had a baby 3 weeks ago and my mum feels the need to keep saying how great she looks and her belly has gone right down, can hardly even tell she's had a baby!
Now am I being overly sensitive here or is this a bit thoughtless saying this to me? Even if I wasn't post partum, I dont imagine I'd care what she looked like after having a baby, as long as they were both okay.
Why do people care so much what women look like during pregnancy and post partum?!

I took my first baby into work a week after she was born and a colleague told me I still looked pregnant!! It’s just rude. Not what a new mum needs to hear, they’re just thoughtless

One of the worst things about being pregnant is all the comments on your body. I've had "don't worry, you'll soon be able to fit back in your jeans". I wasn't worried.
