Overthinking the Xmas party

I’m a manager, I went to the Xmas party yesterday. We went for food then somehow all ended up at a bar. I danced for ages not all over the place just a little boogie shook my bottom a bit haha only near the girls I know but obviously everyone was at this bar and all having a boogie. I had a couple to drink not too much. Not being sick everywhere. But I always overthink my conduct. Like should I have been drinking in front of my team, should I have just left it and not gone.

Me and two others were there till the end but now I’ve woken up and gone ohhhhh shit. Maybe I should’ve just stayed at home.

It’s just beer fear. I’m sure you were fine

My line manager and Deputy head was pissed as a fart at our summer do.No harm done.Back to normal on the Monday.Youre over thinking.

I’m out tonight and Ive promised to be less drunk this time, but only because I was really hungover last time (about 6 weeks ago), not because I was embarrassing. It’s managers only but it wouldn’t be much fun if we didn’t enjoy ourselves. We do all like each other though and we’re not judgy.
You’re overthinking. Most people won’t remember everything and there’ll be stuff that went on at the end of the night that’s usually more controversial. Don’t worry.

My post night out hangxiety was so bad that I basically just hardly drink now!
I don’t suffer with anxiety in any other way, just after drinking.
I would check in with a couple of random people and see if my behaviour had been bad or if I was being OTT and people always said no I was fine just enjoying myself the same as everyone else but it would consume me for anything from a couple of days to a week.

Op I’m fairly sure people did just think you were having a good time if your behaviour stood out in any way.

Our senior managers come to our Christmas lunch, then to the pub for one drink and then leave. We mostly don’t really want to hang out with them anyway 😂 and we also don’t want to be judged by them so it works best all round. A few of the middle managers stay and have fun with us - not necessarily getting drunk but just socialising, I do think it breaks down barriers.

Don't know what the votes mean but YABU for worrying. The best bosses drink and dance with the team! Shows them you're human

Definitely overthinking!
As long as you weren’t sick, passed out, wet yourself, did a striptease, snogged/shagged another staff member or insulted anyone,
then all fine.
It’s not clear to me what the AIBU votes would indicate.
