College did not inform me

My daughter has just informed me that a fellow student has threatened to smash her face in. She had to write a statement over this. Since then she's been made to work in a group with him.

Am I unreasonable to think I should have been informed about this?

Yes, you should have been informed. I would raise merry hell over this. But only after I had read all their policies very, very carefully. Where is the duty of care? What is their plan for her safety? Once again, a girl has to swallow her own feelings for the sake of a boy.

I assume your dd is 16+ in which case i dont think they should be sharing anything without her

Was the tutor/teacher who arranged the groups aware of the threat?

Imo - they should be. Something as serious as this it should be their job to be aware?

FE college? In my experience they don't communicate with parents at all.

She did inform me.

She did consent. I've looked it up they still have to tell aren't when under 18.
