Posting here for traffic.

Teaching assistant here. I've done overtime last month. End of November I got paid for overtime but was underpaid around 5 pounds.

I know it's only 5 pounds. But I spoke to my school business manager. He told me he worked it out correctly. I showed him my workings and he emailed the council who pay us. Payroll got back and said I got paid correctly but I've added all the hours times hourly rate and it's still wrong. I emailed the payroll people who pay us and they've ignored me. My school business manager is now shrugging his shoulders. What do I do?

Forgot to add I've kept all emails from the headteacher asking me to do overtime.

Contact your union. They should be able to advise you

It'll be something to do with NI contributions, tax or pension contributions being deducted from the gross.

On your payslip it should show your overtime hours plus a calculation of the gross payment for those hours eg overtime x 10 hours =£135.

Remember you'll have more deductions if your monthly salary is higher.
