Good that you have managed to see your Dr. Hopefully you were reassured but go back if it continues.
Could it be related to diet? Maybe keep a food diary and see if any foods make symptoms worse.
Did they not mention gall bladder?
Anxiety can cause stomach upset did they not suggest support or are you getting some help?

He said stress could be reason. He gave me tablets for the gut as ive previously suffered from IBS. He said when he pressed tummy nothing seemed out of place. Ive a follow up app at end of month. Im so worried its something serious. Surely no red flags is a good thing??

No one on here can tell you this. If you're worried get a second opinion. It's routine, however, to offer a follow-up to a worried person so that in itself isn't a 'sign'. I do hope you feel better soon.

Look up symptoms of gallbladder problems. Very common. Affect the right just under the ribs. You’d need a scan (like the one you get when pregnant) to look inside and see if any gallstones. I’d be asking the gp about that next if the pain won’t shift and youve tried the tablets he prescribed and it’s not ibs.

It's in the right place for gallbladder pain. But there is no way I'd have described mine as a dull pain. My experience was that gallbladder pain is excruciating, don't know what to do with yourself, type pain.
Having had my gallbladder out, I still get some dull pain in the same area which has been diagnosed as gastritis. It's quite uncomfortable but definitely more manageable.

Is it truly awful pain? Possibly gallbladder?

I had symptoms and went to A&E multiple times over a week. Got sent home each time told there was nothing wrong with me.

looked up the symptoms and came across them on Mumsnet. It was a gallbladder infection

Gallbladder pain can be rumbling and dull. The excruciating bit is when you pass a stone
Ask the gp when you see him

No not truly awful pain (touchwood) . As i sit typing this i can feel my tummy bubbling too .and I very gassy. When doctor checked me he said he couldnt feel anything untoward. I will keep a check tho
