Co parenting Xmas peeve

I am going to suck this up and be the bigger person and let it go, but holy fuck this annoys me because it feels so much like a one up manship petty bullshit which is never really about the kids is it?

Parents share Xmas on alternate years and have set parenting days 60/40 (B/A)

Year 1

It was parent B’s parenting days, but Parent A wanted their turn to have the DC and parent B was gracious about it

Parent A celebrated with the DC on Xmas day, having the DC from Xmas eve dinner time to wake up in the morning. Lovely

Parent B got Boxing Day with the DC to celebrate

Year 2

It’s then parent B’s turn to have DC on Xmas day.

It’s technically parent B’s parenting days again, but Parent A throws a sulk about missing out, so demands kids on Xmas eve to make up for it because it is not fair they won’t see them until boxing day. Parent A announces parent B can have the DC back at 9pm Xmas eve to go to sleep, and that Xmas will already have been celebrated with the DC a day early.

So….year 1 Parent A gets Xmas first, and on year 2 they create fake early Xmas from parent B to get it celebrated first before Parent B does

🙄

That's quite possibly the smallest pettiest act I ever heard (parent A I mean, not you being peeved about it). The thing is, one day kids will grow up and understand this stuff, and their respect for parent A will dissolve into thin air.
