Fed up of Dishwasher!

Moved into new build 3 years ago and had a decent dishwasher Samsung. It worked fine then 1.5 years later water kept collecting at bottom and wouldn’t drain. Called out an engineer recommended by people living on the new build estate and he couldn’t find an issue, cleaned it and said it should be fine. Same issue happened. Called a different person same thing. Others in estate said the screws get rotted away so might be best to replace. I had a new one different make (beko) installed from AO. Fine for a month but now same thing! I’m so fed up please advise.

No advice bur solidarity. Ours is about 3 years old. Heating element has gone for the third time. We've had an engineer out three times who has declared it the most baffling item he's seen in 20 years working with all kinds of appliances. It has nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't work!

Think we are going to give up with it and get a new one. It's so frustrating.

Could it be the outside drains not working properly hence why the water doesn't drain properly?

How do I check this? Sorry I’m completely new to all this!

Could you put some drain unblocker down the sink and leave overnight?? I'm just wondering if it's blocked or slow running drains somewhere?? Sorry don't have a dishwasher. Have you tried the dishwasher cleaners?

Dolamroth · 29/11/2025 08:51

We had this issue a few years back and it was the waste pipe/drain that was the problem. Once we sorted that out it's been fine ever since. As you have had the same issue with 2, maybe it's not the dishwasher but the pipes. There's loads of videos on YouTube, I think that's how we worked it out.

Halloweeeeeeeeen · 29/11/2025 08:52

It must be the pipe work if it is still happening, could be the pipe is at an angle where the dregs of the water flows back into the machine.

Letthemeatgateau · 29/11/2025 09:03

I've never heard of dishwasher screws rotting and preventing drainage. My guess is it's not a dishwasher fault and is either blocked drainage pipes or the pipe angle is too steep for the dishwasher drainage pump to drain the waste water.

Dishwasher are twat.

Orange sediment dried onto everything, despite arranging everything in 900 different ways and with space between things.

Utter wanker appliance.

Isobel201 · 29/11/2025 09:25

I had this problem when I moved into my dad's house and the dishwasher not draining water. After putting drain cleaner down the pipes and everything, I made it do a really hot cycle on its own with dishwasher cleaner. I've had no problems since. I do make sure that there is no fatty items going in and get rid of the fat separatly so it doesn't clog the pipes. I'd get your outside waste pipes looked at, are your sinks draining well?

Could well be to do with the outflow. Either it’s too high or partially blocked, or if it’s plumbed in to the sink it could be that water is being pushed back down in to the machine.

This is assuming all’s good with the filter.

Did the engineers you called out not check this for you?! You’d think they would, especially the 2nd time there were problems.

Anyway, how do you feel about watching a YouTube video or two?

Advicefir · 29/11/2025 10:00

Kitchen sink is draining well no issues with that. I’m so upset. The sanding dishwasher was top quality and to now figure out it wasn’t the dishwasher!

Is the hose from the dishwasher at the correct angle into the drainage?

This. Check the outflow hose.

TheAutumnCrow · 29/11/2025 11:02

And is the machine actually level?

Is the surface/floor it’s on level?
