IVF, weight gain pre Egg retrieval, any advice?

I had to lose weight before undergoing IVF which I did using a vlcd. I did it quite quickly and used Mounjaro.
Prior to starting the IVF, I was instructed to stop the Mounjaro. I then had to start hormones then stims plus steroids. My weight has shot up, I’ve gained 7kgs! I have responded very well to the stims so prepping for egg retrieval but not sure what will happen now!
I’ve tried not to do low calorie so did low carb high protein but still gained weight. I could cry because I have been miserable and hungry but still gained so much. Everything is swollen.
will they cancel me?

I doubt they'd cancel you at this stage - surely they will continue with egg retrieval as planned now the process has started.

I'd try not to stress about it - IVF is stressful enough in itself. Explain your concerns to the team maybe? It will have happened to others before. Focus on walking every day as much as you can, plenty of veg and fruit, cut out any obvious junk, focus on keeping blood sugars stable. Plenty of water. Just old fashioned looking after yourself. Now is not the time for anything drastic.

You can retain a lot of fluid when you're doing IVF, probably a lot of it is that.

Thankyou
just realised I’ve posted under AIBU by mistake sorry everyone 🙈

Has anyone has any experience with this? I’ve responded very well and have a huge number of follicles so if they cancel me I will be devastated. There’s no guarantee I will respond the same next time to my knowledge?

I think this has to be the case, and can see its fluids as weight has gone to ankles, no waist anymore etc

I had no issues with having to loose weight before hand so I cant comment on that.
I did gain almost 5kg during stims though! I was only on them 9 days and the weight just piled on! I wasn't weighed again by the clinic and collection went ahead with no mention of my obvious weight gain.
I did nothing to loose the weight as I felt rubbish tbh so spent more time on the sofa lazing. I ate normally and drank alot of lucozade sport, by 2 weeks after collection i was down 6.5kg

Thankyou, I suspect I will have the same experience! I’ve had a very good response and the cons is very pleased, high follicle count, but I am huge. It feels like I’ve been inflated. I usually have a waist which is gone, and I already look five months pregnant.

Were you weighed before the stims?

I was only ever weighed at my nurse appointment to go over protocol. I was like you during stims, lost all shape and looked heavily pregnant. I had a good amount of follicles too and had 19 eggs collected, I did develop mild OHSS so they said my bloating and weight gain could have been that.
Given you are quite bloated and have a good follicle count, I'd start getting the electrolytes in you if you haven't already just in case. I drank 4 bottles of lucozade sport or the cheapo versions a day. Luckily by 5 days post collection the pain from OHSS had gone and the rest of the symptoms like bloating and weight gain were gone by 2 weeks.
When is your collection scheduled for?

I went up over 5kg by the week after ER and most of it was off again a month later with no effort so I'm sure a lot was water

Thankyou! I’ve read about the electrolyte drinks elsewhere. I’m scheduled for Monday, very nervous! Had my last doses of stims drugs increased which seems to have worsened everything and I am now finding it hard to even walk, it’s very weird! Can’t wait until this is over.
i’g glad to hear your weight gain went relatively quickly, must have been a relief! I’m aiming to get to normal within the month
