Hey all can someone recommend me the best products for Afro hair? (Leave in conditioner, gels to use when braiding etc) also for your two year olds - the advice online says don’t use a bonnet at this age. How do you protect their hair overnight? Can anyone reccomend a good bonnet for the 4 year old?
my middle dc is 4 and has a beautiful Afro. I currently use a leave in conditioner by a brand called Mielle but her hair feels dry every morning (at the moment it’s in a high ponytail for school so we wet and refresh it in the morning before tying it up. It’s really thick and quite long also. I am going to braid it this weekend and wanted to get it well hydrated first.
my littlest dc has just turned two. Her hair is really short Afro at the back. I can barely get it into a little ponytail. The top is really long and ringlet curls but I suspect it will get more curly as she grows as it seems to be getting more curly on her hair line. At the moment I refresh the curls in the morning and do bunches on top.
me and my eldest dc have different hair. Mine is 2c-3A I would say and eldest (boy) has ringlets on top but they never seem to stay as nice defined curls. I use curl activator and a leave in conditioner for him. Should I use a gel aswell?
I am conscious of protecting their hair overnight girls hair as it’s so dry. Would a satin bedsheet/pillowcase be best for the girls?
i was never shown how to look after my hair nither was dh really (he has an Afro) so we have been learning to braid and style but can’t seem to get the hydration part right.
