Which hoover for the sofa only would you get?

Sorry very boring question but I need to buy one today.

We bought two dark velvet sofas. I knew they would be a nightmare to keep looking fresh and they are. Our hoover does a good job keeping it tidy but the attachment is too small and narrow so it takes longer than necessary. I have to do it everyday or the living room feels shit.

It’s dust and dog hair that is the issue (dogs weirdly rarely go on sofas as they prefer their beds by the radiator so it’s more dust that is annoying).

Which hoover would you go for? If anyone has experience with both I would be forever grateful for your input

We've got a shark one very similar to that and it's fantastic. We use it for general decrumbing and furniture.

What about a big sticky roller

We have tried that but it just involves a lot more going and back and forth than the hoover

Have you got the massive ones. You wouldnt be able to get into the grooves with it though

I wouldn't use a normal hoover, the attachments are usually too fiddly and slow. I actually use my handheld mattress vac on the sofa now. It has a vibrating pad that beats the dust out of the fabric rather than just sucking the surface, and the head is wide so it’s quick to whizz round. Makes a huge difference on velvet

I have the 'Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog Cylinder Bagged Vacuum Cleaner', which is used several times a day on our fabric sofas, thanks to our fluffy family.

It does a great job. Adjustable hose which makes it comfortable to use on the sofa and various attachments.
