To think this refund isn't right

Ahfiddlesticks · 23/11/2025 22:20

I ordered £290 of stuff from a website (Christmas presents). I had a 10% voucher, reducing it by £29.

I need to return 2 items, totalling £116 (actually paid) as they don't fit. The shop will only refund me £87 as they state I've already had £29 off.

This doesn't seem right?

No, I'd expect them to pro rata the 10%. You might need to phone them to explain.

Unless it was a 10% off over £200 spend so you’d no longer qualify or similar I’d expected the full refund less 10%

tripleginandtonic · 23/11/2025 22:25

Think you should get £102 back so half of the 10% voucher fir the clothes you kept.

Ahfiddlesticks · 23/11/2025 23:04

Thanks. I'll raise it with them.

You should get £116 less 10% back so £104.40 (unless voucher was only over a certain total amount like £200 which you are now under)

Bobiverse · 23/11/2025 23:34

Was the voucher dependent on a minimum spend?

No. No restrictions at all.

If it applied 10% off each item then you should be refunded the cost of those items less 10%.

Are you always this rude @Hebalof or is it wine o'clock? And you can't work out 10%.

OP said the £116 was actually paid, so that’s already after 10%. Meaning she should be refunded £116.

PollyBell · 24/11/2025 02:05

I presume a refund is what you actually paid

This is what I thought as well! If the discount is already applied then I get back what I paid. Certainly won't be buying from them again

I do worry about the state of the education system these days!
