Hi, I'm looking for a built in bathroom cabinet mirror please. I've looked everywhere and when I've finally found one, it's too deep at 20cm.
Any help on where to buy them where they don't cost the earth please? Thanks.

What’s your AIBU?

nomas · 23/11/2025 01:14

Could you clarify what you mean by built in? Do you mean bathroom furniture like a basin cabinet? I didn’t think 20cm is very deep?

Any links to what you looked at would be great.

Do you mean a recessed bathroom cabinet with mirror door? Popular here in the USA - never saw one in the UK. Mine is kohler and brilliant. Has nightlight and power outlets.

I’ve got one - bought it as part of a bathroom order at Wickes. I’ll look through the paperwork and try to find the brand name.

Thank you all, it's a cabinet that sits in the wall cavity and the mirror is flush with the wall.

Not many houses in the UK would have the sort of wall construction for this to be useful.

Something like this.
This one costs £835, similar to most I've seen, which is way above my budget.

I've added a photo, pending.

Thank you, they're so expensive.
Ideally a bog standard one with no mod cons.

I’ve got this one but if you Google the name of it some cheaper options come up https://www.hib.co.uk/products/vanquish-bathroom-cabinet?size=53cm

I’d ask in a plumbers merchant - the ones which have a mini showroom

Didn't realise this, now can't return the one I got.
Should have asked the joiner but grew up with them being standard when I lived.

Ours sits in an internal wall.

Woollyguru · 23/11/2025 10:29

If you're having your bathroom done you could ask builders to make one? Doesn't seem that difficult.

Thank you, have been searching for months and finally found one for a good price, but turns out too deep.

I see why it wasn't so expensive now as most walls can't accommodate it.

It would be possible in some houses but I think because it's not common the ones you are going to get will be £££

All the houses I've lived in have sinks on external walls (easier for plumbing) where the internal wall is brick/block. So recessing would be a big job.

Unfortunately he's said he's not able to, he said if I buy one, he'll fit it, but can't make it.

I've watched YouTube videos and am sure he could, but short of forcing him, not much I can do.

I have this one, is this what you are looking for?

Thank you, yes, but not for that cost as unfortunately budget not there.

Would be happy with a standard wooden one. Small bathroom, so trying to maximise space.

*where I lived even.....

Thanks, not familiar with UK walls, just assumed the one I got would work.

I was so proud when I finally found it ,ha!

Works started next week, so panicking as will be more expensive if builder has to come back to fit it.
