Online gift for delivery didn’t arrive

What would you expect?

I ordered a small gift for delivery over 6 months ago. As I didn’t hear, I assumed the recipient got it & forgot to say, but only during a recent conversation they said “what gift?”. I followed the tracking and saw it was sent back to the online gifts company - maybe they couldn’t find the building or there was no one there to sign, it’s unclear.
What would you expect to happen next?

Automatic refund.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 22/11/2025 11:08

You should have received a refund

I thought this, too. I don’t know if there’s a legal obligation for a refund?

Yes. You’ve got a contract that they provide goods for x amount. They haven’t provided the goods so they will need to refund you.
Was the refund email lost in spam/junk ?

The only company Icouldn’tget a refund from has been Purdy and Figg. They wanted proof I had returned the box. Sadly that email came 2 months later when I had binned receipt. I had wrongly assumed since I bought online, they would know my return when it arrived back to them. T seems not. Scamming gits.

No. I emailed them with all the details. First they said they’d refund me. Then they said they won’t issue a refund because of the time lapsed but will give me a discount code of that amount for my next order.
