Gifts for paid workies?

We've just had some work done in the house. Went onto the fb page of company to find out something and it was full of pics of gifts from customers, bottles of wine & chocs etc.

Is this a thing? They've done a great job and were lovely people but it hadn't occurred that after paying them a good rate we'd be needing to gift as well. Asked DH and he strongly objected to giving presents for doing a job you're being paid for.

Additionally, they finished a day earlier than expected so I hadn't got anything, thinking I could pop out in the morning if I decided to get something. I felt awkward when they left. Would you? To add, I made numerous cuppas with plates of biccies and cakes, so I wasn't being a tightarse.

I wouldn’t, no. Always make sure workmen are well looked after & catered for during the job.

I’m baffled people give estate agents gifts! They are paid thousands for the bare minimum in most cases. Why they deserve flowers, chocolates & wine is beyond me 😂
