In your opinion.

In what context?

I suppose dress sense is a fairly obvious one. Someone who isn't afraid to go "off piste" with their clothes. Also people who actively seek out an alternative life style and eschew material benefits to do so. For example someone who happily lives in a caravan selling pottery when they could earn £££ elsewhere and live in a centrally heated house with all mod cons. However, unconventional is not the same as eccentric.

It's hard to say because pretty much everybody belongs to some kind of tribe and even if they stand out as unconventional in one context, they'll seem totally conventional in another.

To me, unconventional means doing things without regard to convention. I think some people get so obsessed with not wanting to be conventional that they end up defining themselves against convention and not doing things they would actually like to do, which is just as rigid and narrow.
