Someone just keyed my car

SewingBees · 15/11/2025 11:41

Parked outside Waitrose, in a disabled bay with my badge on show. In the shop less than 10 minutes and I've come out to a scratch down both drivers side doors. Why would someone do that?

Cunts

CosySeason · 15/11/2025 11:42

Jealously.
The public are made to hate disabled people and have all been brainwashed to think they get free cars and too many benefits.

Report it to the police and hopefully they’ll be on cctv!

evtheria · 15/11/2025 11:45

I hope there’s cctv footage, so sorry some lowlife did that.

caramac04 · 15/11/2025 11:46

Wow what sort of nasty person does this? Can you check if there is cctv to identify the culprit?
Sorry this has happened.

EditorInChief · 15/11/2025 11:48

Was it a "luxury" brand?

Some people are just pricks unfortunately.

Katrinawaves · 15/11/2025 11:50

There are some lowlife around.

it happened to us once in a regular spot in a car park at Surrey Quays. We were parked middle of a row, not too close to cars on either side, not in disabled or parent and child and came out to find both sides of the car had been keyed. The only explanation we could come up with was that it was a higher end car brand and an SUV but the car was about 10 years old at the time so not really super flashy!

RatsAss · 15/11/2025 11:54

Doesn’t matter what brand the car is. A friend’s 15 year old Kia Picanto got keyed. It’s just pure nastiness.

PumpkinTwistyWindToots · 15/11/2025 11:56

Report it to the police, they can seek the CCTV footage from the shop. It's not just criminal damage, it's targeted harassment on the basis of disability.

lostintranslation148 · 15/11/2025 12:02

Our secondhand Nissan Micra got keyed at the cinema. It's such a spiteful think to do for absolutely no reason. I'm really sorry OP.

Borase · 15/11/2025 12:02

Hope you’re ok. I had this happen and I was really surprised at how upset it made me.

In my case it was a little different as I know who did it. Well I didn’t “know” them but we interacted. But it was unsettling because this man approached me telling me my car was blocking the tractor gate to a field. I personally thought it was just about okay and I was only going to be 5 mins. Anyway, I immediately apologised and moved my car straight away. Come back and there is a massive scratch the entire length of my car. It was really upsetting. That was my dog’s penultimate last walk.

The fact he had been so straightforward and reasonable to my face for him to turn around and do that was extremely disturbing!

JudgeBread · 15/11/2025 12:04

Because they're arseholes.

Report it to the police, they'll be able to get access to Waitrose CCTV and maybe see the twat who did it.

LilyGeorge · 15/11/2025 12:04

It’s such a weasely, spiteful crime. I’m very sorry OP.

SewingBees · 15/11/2025 12:54

Thanks for the messages. I will report it to the police but I doubt they have the resources to do anything. It is right under a CCTV camera though.

I'm not especially upset, the car already has several scratches and dings, it's just the spitefulness. If it was an accident they could have left details. I have bigger things to worry about though so I won't be losing sleep over this.

I wonder if it was partly because I don't particularly look disabled, but I've had major back surgery twice and I can't get in or out of a car unless I can open the door fully, so I need the wider space. Plus every step I take is painful, but I hide it well.

This is horrible. I'm so sorry.

Yesimmoaningaboutbenefits · 15/11/2025 13:39

We live near a popular dog walking site and a neighbour used to have their car keyed regularly. At least once a week. It was a dog walker who walked past the car regularly and had decided he didn't like the colour of the car! Police did have a word.

Some people are just weird.

gamerchick · 15/11/2025 13:45

Is it a nice car?

The media has made a very good job of making people on disability freeloaders for the free car. You only have to read a lot of posts on here.

A lot people are extremely thick and believe everything they read.

I'd ask for the CCTV me and shame the fuckers on SM.

Balloonhearts · 15/11/2025 13:48

Might have been someone dragging a trolley through the gap. People are fucking stupid.

SewingBees · 15/11/2025 13:56

Having a disabled badge does not equal being on disability though. I work full time, pay a shit load of tax and have never been on benefits.

QueenClinomania · 15/11/2025 13:59

It'll probably be one of those thick as pigshit twats who think disabled means wheelchair user or elderly

Iheartmysmart · 15/11/2025 14:03

Some idiot has scuffed all down one side of my car, literally from the front passenger wing to the back. I know it’s an old car but it’s my pride and joy and I can’t just have it resprayed as panels are plastic. It happened in the supermarket car park a few weeks ago and I’m still silently seething now. So bloody inconsiderate.

Sorry it happened to you OP, some people are just nasty bastards.
