Alternative to Dyson airwrap

Mummabear04 · 13/11/2025 20:57

I was just wondering on the off chance if anyone has found a reasonably priced alternative to the Dyson air wrap? I'm looking for beach waves for thin, straight hair that don't take long to do and also dont cost £300+ as I'm no made of money! AIBU to think something like this exists?

I don't know the answer to your question but I know a lot of the super cheap ones are scams with fake reviews

Shark flex style

I did a lot of research into this recently. After speaking to friends, my hair dresser and looking at reviews I went for a shark flexfushion (I liked the fact it offered straightening as well as curling).

You can buy refurbished Dyson and shark hair styles/dryers from the company themselves via eBay. It more than halved the price and still came with 1 year warranty. Often they are ones that have been returned within the 30 day window. Mine looked like it had never been used.

I have researched a lot into this and the shark is just as good, if not better. Still a lot of money. My sister purchased the b&m one think it’s Elle and loves it, I’ve not tried it so can’t say. Beach waves however I have the Elle mermaid waver (not sure if it’s real name) and it’s so good, perfect beach waves and takes barely any time, there are other brands such as mark hill and beauty works that do these but if that’s all you want will save you a lot of ££

Thanks, my cousin actually has one similar but I never thought about it for myself as I have long hair. Will pop round and give it a go!

This is really helpful, thanks!

I just bought this from Vinted for my DD for less than half the rrp and was virtually brand new. It also came with the box which is ace. Definitely check Vinted or eBay as a lot sell them on coz they don’t suit their hair type or they can’t get the hang of using them.
