Whilst conducting my after swim ablutions I found a toothbrush resting on the shower gel dispenser. After finishing I took between two fingers by the mid-handle and transferred it to a paper cup which I placed in the vanity area beside the hand basin and hair dryer.

I’m doubting myself now. WWYD?

I probably would have ignored it and immediatly forgotten about it. I can't understand why you're giving it any thought, let alone doubting yourself about your choices.

CatamaranViper · 13/11/2025 13:17

Okay. Well done?
I mean someone probably just forgot it and went back to look for it, realised it had been moved so chucked it out.

YoureKillingMyPeace · 13/11/2025 13:17

I would have done the typical British thing of pretending I hadn’t noticed it and would have left it.

  1. they would know where they left it if they were going to dash back for it.
  2. I’d not touch anyone else’s slobbery toothbrush
  3. if someone had touched my toothbrush and moved it (not that I would have left it in a public shower! Who does that?) I wouldn’t be able to use it anyway.
FunnyOrca · 13/11/2025 13:18

I probably would have just left it where it was and let the cleaners dispose of it. I doubt anyone is coming back for it.

2GreatFatSquirrels · 13/11/2025 13:18

It’s a toothbrush… you should have just thrown it in the bin

Bitzee · 13/11/2025 13:19

I would have ignored and used a different shower.

Redpeach · 13/11/2025 13:20

Bit weird to brush teeth in a public shower

AnnoyingAlarm · 13/11/2025 13:37

What are you doubting?

I have dc that did early morning swimming sessions and lots of dc go straight to school from there so they did brush their teeth there (sinks though). So not altogether weird.

SummerHouse · 13/11/2025 13:40

I am suddenly doubtful of my actions in relation to all random items I have ever seen in a public place.

InveterateWineDrinker · 13/11/2025 13:54

I'd have scrubbed my buttcrack with it then put it back.

Well according to the consensus I did something weird.
but the only person that would have messed with it would have put it back apparently untouched for maximum effect @InveterateWineDrinker ahem.

thanks for the feedback

I thought this was going to be a thread on "can i use a changing room that someone has left clothes in"

To which the answer I would say is a most emphatic "yes!"

Particularly at busy child swimming lesson times!!

Whichone2024 · 13/11/2025 14:33

I had to re read this so many times as I thought it’s said you took some shower gel between two fingers and placed that in the cup then I was confused why nobody else was confused 😂

ohyesido · 13/11/2025 14:48

I wouldn’t touch it. What are you worried about? Even if you grabbed it with your fist and placed it in the bin you wouldn’t be wrong or have cause for concern
