To enjoy eating the same thing everyday?

for context, I am on Mounjaro. I used to be 150kgs and I’m now 98kg and going down.

someone at work pointed out how odd it is that I eat the same thing everyday.

I will always have Greek yoghurt with berries in the morning. In the summer they’re fresh, in the winter they’re frozen.

for lunch it’s whatever I’ve batch cooked. Usually something like a stew or a casserole, or soup. With homemade bread if I fancy it.

for dinner, it’s something else batch cooked.

at the weekend I put a lot more effort into my good. For example this week I will make my own ham and sourdough and have sandwiches for lunch for the weekend (and a couple of days after!)

I really like not having the old obsession over food. To me now food is nothing more than an inconvenience that I have to tick off from my day. I get enough protein, vitamins and all the rest. I tend to eat 8-10 portions of fruit and veg a day.

when I’m on holiday/it’s a special occasion I’ll obviously shake it up. If I want to grab lunch at work, I will. It’s not like I have to stick to a rigid plan. I just like it.

I might be missing the point here but other than breakfast, it doesn’t sound like you’re eating the same thing every day?

AhBiscuits · 12/11/2025 20:38

I was the same when on the jabs, just didn't give a shit about food anymore.

JDM625 · 12/11/2025 20:39

I don't understand? If the batch cooked lunch and dinner items are different things each day- then its not the exact same thing every day! Just the youghurt and berries are.

AutumnClouds · 12/11/2025 20:39

That sounds like you have the same breakfast every day then similarish lunches and a range of dinners. Isn’t that what most people do? I’m surprised your colleague is surprised!

ItsNotPerfectBut · 12/11/2025 20:41

It’s the same thing each week, sorry. So for example this week it’s been soup for lunch all week. Next I think it’ll be beef stew. I don’t vary from day to day but week to week.

I was literally eating the same thing every lunchtime - for the best part of a year. (I’m on mounjaro for reference) I thought I didn’t care about food and was happy to eat the same meal, daily, until I wasn’t. Now I don’t think I could ever eat it again, the thought of it makes feel ill. I think I’d manage with the same meal on weekly rotation though - quite easily.

CharlotteLightandDark · 12/11/2025 20:46

I’m on it too and don’t feel the need to do this, have had salmon, steak, black cod and a burger this week so far. You do you though, no one really gives a shit either way :)

I have to do that because I eat very small portions so you cant really cook easily in such small portions so I cook something and it keeps me going for days

TheWiseAmethyst · 12/11/2025 20:49

If it makes life easier just stick to it. So long as it's a balance if nutrients and vitamins it's fine.

exLtEveDallas · 12/11/2025 20:49

I'm not on WLI but I have been slowly losing weight and getting healthier over the last year or so. I have boiled eggs and toast every morning (keeps me full so I don't snack). In the winter I make a large stew/soup on a Sunday that I eat for lunch every day, in the summer I have a salad rather than a soup. Evenings are a rice, pasta or veg meal (no junk, nothing fried, nothing sweet).

I'm not bored of it, it's working for me (4 stone down!) and it keeps me on track. I was obsessive for the first 6-12 months and only ate this, but now I am
more flexible. I got some stick from colleagues initially when they were cracking out the cake and biscuits that I refused, but now they don't even offer!

See I’d happily eat roasted red pepper and tomato soup with homemade rolls everyday for the rest of my life 😂 but I do tend to hyperfixate on things anyway

I’m not on the jabs and have always done this, I thought it was pretty normal honestly!? I pay £££ for Hello Fresh to encourage me not to eat the same things for dinner every night too lol.

I thought it was! It was only when we chatted about what’s for dinner today and I said I was having the same thing again everyone raised an eyebrow

I can’t imagine anything worse than getting in from the gym and having to stand and cook. I can just get dinner out of the fridge and microwave it and I’m done in five minutes 😂

I've eaten the same breakfast and lunch for the past 8 years or so, and rotate about 5 different batch dinners, I can easily eat the exact same thing every day for weeks.

When on holiday, eating out or poorly it's different, though, of course. But 90% of the time I have my set menu.

I do eat a wide range of foods in my set menu though! Loads of veg.

hby9628 · 12/11/2025 21:00

I do the same. Im not on MJ but I just batch cook a soup & have it everyday. It’s just easier.

Waitaminutewheresmejumper · 12/11/2025 21:05

I've had the exact same lunch every single work day for about a decade. I like it, it suits me and it needs no thought, perfect. (I'm on mj now, but other than portion sizes and snacking, I don't think I've changed much food wise.)

arcticpandas · 12/11/2025 21:10

I eat the same thing for lunch every day and the same dinner 3 days in a row. Not on wli (normal weight). The only reason is I like it so why change?

I do too! Until something goes slightly wrong with the dish and then it’s game over for me.

henlake7 · 12/11/2025 21:15

Sounds fine to me. I have the same breakfast, lunch and supper everyday. Then I'll batch cook and eat the same thing all week.
Although in the summer I got abit obsessed with hummus and rice cakes and ate them for tea for about 3 months!😄

Yeah this was me with leek and potato soup. Then it went a bit funky and I can never trust it again 🥲

chickenfucker · 12/11/2025 21:31

Oh my mum does this. I can do it for a bit - I'll happily have a chicken sandwich for lunch every day when I'm wfh - but I get really fed up with eating the same dinners over and over. We used to have the same dinner every Saturday and Sunday night when we were kids ( mince based - cheap!) and it still makes me feel ill to think about it 35 years later.

HoskinsChoice · 12/11/2025 23:32

I can't see any issue with this, it seems sensible. My only concern would be whether you're getting a good mix of nutrients if you're always eating the same thing.
