Breast screen results for someone else

I was ordering my repeat prescription on the NHS app and was clicking on all the info that’s in there these days, it’s really interesting.

i clicked on my breast screening results (no it didn’t hurt for me) and underneath my results I’ve got the results for another random woman who lives a few streets from me

it shows her name, NHS number, full address, telephone number, dob, and her scan results 'no significant radiological abnormality'

now I know I can report it and they'll say sorry we will remove it from your records, but it feels really off to me. What do other people think

That’s quite a breach of confidential patient info.

You should alert the practice, as this might be a small part of a larger mess. You should also alert your neighbour, as she has a right to know where her personal info has been exposed.

Massive IG breech. Report it. It will be taken very seriously.

That’s an extreme breach of information. I’d try wipe all info out my head, contact NHS to get it removed and possibly tell her “this happened and just wanted to let you know” but possibly not… depends on how well she seems and what my relationship with her is like

It’s actually posted from the Nightingale Centre as it was one of the screening vans in the GP's car park should I go to them or my GP centre?

it looks like the 2 results are on the same piece of paper so I’m thinking this isn’t the only error

And do you also have YOUR results?

randomchap · 11/11/2025 10:21

Report it to the gp, they are the one holding the data on their system. They'll need to investigate how it got there and remove it asap.

TallulahBetty · 11/11/2025 10:24

Are your own results on there too?

FurForksSake · 11/11/2025 10:24

Having dealt with similar it should be taken very seriously and I’d be surprised if jt wasn’t. They might not tell you the outcome but there should be an investigation and lessons learnt and working out how it happened.

I would contact breast screening and pals potentially.

Yes my results are at the top of the page and the other persons are on the bottom of the page

From what I remember I got a letter in July, with just my details on it, saying all looked clear they’d contact me again in x years time so didn’t think any more about it

it looks like it’s a scanned printed report that’s been uploaded to my NHS app
