Clean Shopping Trollies

Any body dislike children standing in shopping Trollies, contaminating them with their dirty shoes?
Now, I put my food straight in to bags once scanned but when I think what is likely to be on kids shoes I get the ICK

Why worry about their shoes, when the trolley handle has been held by people who don’t wash their hands after doing a poo, people who sneeze into their hands or pick their noses, people with pets, children?

WonderlandWasAllAHoax · 09/11/2025 18:20

Children's shoes are probably amongst the cleanest things that go in there.

Rats piss, anyone?

Topseyt123 · 09/11/2025 18:22

I don't worry about it at all. Or even think about it.

I pack my purchases into my reusable bags and most are pretty well wrapped in packaging anyway.

Stressedoutmummyof3 · 09/11/2025 18:24

I'm more worried about the rats that piss everywhere the bird that have probably shit on the trolley too.
I hate seeing kids standing in trolleys incase they hurt themselves. Their shoes are less dirty than the vermin that live by supermarkets.

TheLocust · 09/11/2025 18:26

Doesn't bother me. On the other hand, people leaving rubbish (discarded shopping lists, receipts, crisp packets, banana peel etc) in the trolleys really irritates me. Lazy, grubby sods.

Icecreamandcoffee · 09/11/2025 18:29

Do you also get the ICK when you know the rats have pissed over them, the pigeons have shat all over them. Dirty buggers have coughed/ sneezed over them. Some have been sicked on. I've witnessed bored teens spitting on the trolleys too. Shoes are the least of my worries.

Children shouldn't stand in trolleys as its dangerous but where your food is stored is a lot dirtier then kids shoes have you ever been in a stock room

TheatricalLife · 09/11/2025 18:42

They are absolutely filthy anyway, so it doesn't really bother me.

Yes, same - even more irritating given that supermarkets have plenty of bins available outside. I feel the same when I see takeaway coffee cups/bubble tea cups that people think it's completely fine to just discard on a random shelf.

weericky · 09/11/2025 19:06

I don’t give the cleanliness of a shopping trolly a single thought tbh.

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 09/11/2025 19:35

Never given it any thought!
