Blue badge - train station car park

For the first time, I am going to be leaving my car in a train station car park with my sons blue badge on display, I have registered my car with the APOC website but I am just checking is there anything else I need to do, other than obviously have the blue badge on display? I am paranoid about getting a ticket. Thanks!

Some private car parks still charge blue badge holders to park, they just provide blue badge spaces. So double check whether you actually have to pay or not.

You probably still need to register the location when you park on the day via the app.

My local station still makes you pay, even with a blue badge. I think most do now, so check it out before you go to avoid the car receiving a ticket.

South Western Railway lets you park in its station car parks for free as long as you've registered your vehicle and badge through the APCOA scheme. If all BB parking space are full, you can park in the other long stay spaces (not the 20 minute ones) as long as the registered badge is on display.

We had to register with the train company. It was done online and after registering we were able to park for free.

I think it really varies depending on where you are. Can you Google it and see if anything come up specifically for the station you are using?

As with anywhere you need to check the rules for the specific car park. I have found it’s best not to assume anything!
