Fake Dr Martens on Vinted?

I am interested in some boots and I am wondering if any of you clever people can tell me whether you think these are fake considering the stitching isn’t quite right here? Thankyou

How much are they asking? A too-good-to-be-true asking price is the biggest clue. They could legitimately be seconds, but Dr Martens' quality has declined so much that they could be genuine.

Dr Martens are so poorly made now the fakes would probably outlive them! Agree with PP, it depends on the price. What are the labels on the heel like?

Ladyoftheapple · 05/11/2025 15:33

They are asking for £110, this is the only shot of the label on the back

I have a lot of genuine DMs and they looks real to me, although it's hard to tell in a picture.

Sadly, that kind of shoddy stitching is not uncommon for the brand these days. I've been buying my DMs from a woman who restores vintage pairs from the 90s on Vinted lately, the quality is so much better, and they look brand new!

They're £180 full price, 10% off first order brings them to £162 with free shipping and full consumer protection for returns etc. There might be further reductions later this month for Black Friday.

With buyer protection and shipping the Vinted price will be at least £120-125. I personally wouldn't take the risk that they might be fakes for the sake of saving less than £40.

I have photos of the soles too, don’t know if it helps…

I'm sorry OP but we can't authenticate them for you.

You will be gambling that they might be fake and giving up customer service / consumer coverage if anything goes wrong with them. Only you can decide if that's worth £40 to you.

They're fake. I've just gone through the same thing on Vinted - luckily not paying mega bucks. The stitching is off on the picture and you should not be able to see yellow through the soles. Hope that helps and hopefully you haven't bought them 🙂
