Facebook account disabled

I don't imagine anyone can help but I'm pretty desperate, and devastated.

For no reason Facebook disabled my account on Monday night, I absolutely did nothing wrong. I've had an account since the start. My entire adult life is on there - engagement, wedding, babies, etc.

There is no way to get hold of anybody. It says I have 30 days to submit more information via the Help centre, after this is will be permanently disabled. But the help center just tells me to log into my account, which I can't do.

I have found a few email addresses I have contacted, no idea if anybody is at the end of them though.

Has anybody gone through this and managed to get their account back? How can such a massive company have nobody to speak to?? I'm pretty sure it was AI bots that have mistakenly banned me.

Yes. They disabled mine and I got the thirty day deletion so I had to go through the rigmarole of the verification process and take a video of both sides of my face/head and full on.

They also send you codes which for me never worked the first time and I had to persist until they were accepted.

It happened to me because I have two Facebook profiles and I was signed out of both when I did an update and then it wouldn’t let me sign in after the update and even though my email and password were correct it put my profile into deletion.

Glad it worked out for you - what a pain though.

I can’t log in to do anything - forgotten my password - usually I just enter my phone number and enter a code. That’s not working this time though ☹️

With the digital ID plans being forced on all of us soon, I feel like this is something many social media companies and generally tech companies will start doing in a bid to force everyone to verify their ID. The government says it won't be mandatory but effectively companies will make it mandatory by demanding that everyone essentially verifies their ID. LinkedIn locked me out of my account for no reason and demands that I verify my ID. I won't do. I am not bothered enough about LinkedIn to want to go through digital ID verification with some third party American company I've never heard of. I don't have enough confidence in their ability to keep my data secure and private and I also don't think that LinkedIn or any other such company needs my personal data. They previously asked me to verify my work email address which I did. My employer verified my ID on employment obviously. I don't see any reason whatsoever as to why a company like LinkedIn should need anything more than that from me, so I just gave up on LinkedIn instead 😊

I wouldn’t be happy about that either. I probably would if it would get my Facebook account back though - not that anyone has asked me for details. Not so much as an email 😠

Have a look on Reddit. This is happening to lots of people for no reason whatsoever. Most likely due to AI flagging stuff that is not actually there.

Yeah, that had come up in my searching! I don’t understand it enough to post though. It does seem to be a lot of people with the same problem. I just can’t understand how such a large company gets away with such awful customer service!

It happened to me two months ago. It flagged me, never told me why, I did the whole video verification thing etc. Then it said my appeal had failed and they just robotically shut down my account. There seem to be no real humans to talk to or reviewing any decisions. I feel like Zuckerberg just sits alone in an empty office these days counting his money.
So I spend time on MN which is run and modded by humans, and you can email them even if you have been banned and want to appeal.

Two profiles is against the terms. You were lucky they gave either back, they don't usually.

Have you checked all emails that have been associated with your account? There's definitely nothing? They do usually ask you to verify yourself. If you didn't have 2FA, you've probably been hacked. The hacks only usually last an hour or so before they're banned; but they're worth a lot of money for that hour.

No, nothing in either email address linked to the account.

How would I have been hacked? Even I don’t know the password 😆 It’s possible, I certainly didn’t do anything to get banned.

Hi did you get this sorted. My Facebook was disabled yesterday for absolutely no reason given I've had no emails or communication. I'm super frustrated and same as you I can't long into get into the appeal as keep getting a connection lost message so I can't even attempt to get help from them.
