Is this unfair on DH family?

Name change as outing. I'm not from the UK, we live in England and visit my family abroad very regularly. The plan had always been to move to where I'm from, it hasn't happened due to various reasons and we're very happy in England, and close to both sides of the families (three sides to tie family really as DH parents are divorced and both remarried!) We see both DH sets of parents every few weeks, and mine abroad every like 3 or 4 months or so. However we spend every Christmas at my parents as my sister is then visiting too and my husband says that if we stay in UK he then has to decide where to spend Christmas (his mum's or dad's house, if you see what I mean!) We usually host a big Christmas soirée before we go on December but I've said I think we need to stay with his family as well really. What do you think?

Absolutely fine. They have you most of the rest of the year. Do exactly what you want. I speak as a dm of two adult dc who live overseas and one in UK but with in-laws overseas.

Why would you have to stay with his family as well?

Sounds as though he's not fussed about having Xmas with them, you do a big Christmas thing before you go and you see his family far more on a day to day basis. Is there pressure for you to do xmas with them or is it just something you're thinking about?
