...and to think men just don't expect to be challenged by women?
I was walking along our village high street with my 4yo and 2yo in her buggy around 5.30 so already dark.
As we approached a side road intending to cross it a car came along. We slowed down to wait, car slowed down, then proceeded to drive up over the curb (and double yellows) and park right in the middle of the pavement on the other side. (A massive sweeping pavement so plenty of room but that's not my point)
So we crossed the road and passed the car just as he got out. He said 'sorry I was waiting to see if you were going to cross'
I said 'ok but you shouldn't be driving over the curb and across the pavement, especially in the dark it's really dangerous!' (this is a busy village with lots of young families)
He said 'its an amazing invention called lights, love, you should try them out' and starts walking away from me across the road to the village shop.
I shouted (because he was storming away from me) 'that doesn't mean you can park wherever you like' and he responded with an expletive that I couldn't really hear.
For what it's worth there was plenty of on street parking next to the shop but I think I didn't want to inconvenience himself to drive 20m out of his way and have to turn around, so he thought he had the right to park in the middle of the pavement.
I don't think I'm unreasonable but it's pissed me off!
