To think I should be a millionaire ?

I just think I know how to live a lovely life.

I wouldn’t work, so someone else could have the joy of my job, I keep hairdressers employed getting a daily blow dry, and chefs would be enjoying cooking nightly for me.

I would always tip well too.

I think this should be a political manifesto pledge. Me being a millionaire could change the destiny of the country.

How many millions for that lifestyle. It sounds Dorothy Parkeresque and I think she wrote about it in the 1920s. "Ah well, if I had another million".

What kind of after tax income do you need, OP? Even with a clever (expensive) accountant you will prob be paying at least 25% won’t you?

If you are young and living off investments I think you are supposed to count on a return of 5% pa. If you need £15K pcm, which sounds minimal for your expectations, you need an annual pretax income of

1.25 x (12 x 15,000) = £225,000

That’s 5% of £4,500,000

So this is what you need to invest. Good luck!
