Looking at college and post 16 for my son
He’s in a mainstream school at the min but it’s up and down so I thought like a specialist provision ? To boost his self esteem and confidence ? To then move on to mainstream college?
But I have looked at so many and I’m still so unsure
😞 any tips please a
Thanks

What would be the course you and he are considering?

Does he have an EHCP, because post 16 provision would be discussed at annual review.

I think only you/your DS can decide really. It depends on his needs and ambitions.

DS is in year 11 at mainstream at at his annual review it was agreed we would be pushing for him to go to the local college on their specialist course for the first year or two and then look at moving onto mainstream courses and/or supported internships.

He very much needs to build his self esteem and independence so we are hoping this will help.
