Tedious content from Instagram influencers

Influencers who post the most boring, tedious content :
Getting out of bed
Washing face /brushing teeth
Making a coffee
Brushing hair

Who is self - indulgent enough to think this kind of stuff is instagram worthy? Lol.
Am I the only one who would love to see more variety in content from style and beauty influencers?

If only there were a way we could avoid being exposed to this content....

I can honestly say I have never once looked at any influencers content.

The reason for it is, I've seen endless posts on MN moaning about them.

And also because I'm just not interested in the lives of strangers to that extent.

The whole idea of influencers seems far too self-indulgent to me but so many people seem to lap it all up.

I never get this type of thing on my Instagram feed. Stop looking at it and liking it and it will stop coming. Algorithms.

Instagram is like an alternate universe.

Ages ago I was so bored of my Instagram feed so I spent an hour going through my follow list and unfollowed so, so many people. It’s a much more genuine space these days!!

Influencers only post what they know morons want to watch. They don't do it for a laugh, they do it for the money. They wouldn't be an influencer if people weren't watching them. Yes those people are morons but you have to be a bit of a moron to buy something just because some Z list celeb showed it to you. Watching influencers is the equivalent of cutting out the TV programmes and just watching the adverts in between. Weird.

It's like seeing the graffiti of every toilet wall, everywhere in the world all in one place.

i post silly little TikTok’s to my measly 113 followers. Mainly because I have started doing a lot of stuff solo and like to post about it, because I think even inspiring one other person to do solo trips/activities is a good thing :)

You don’t have to watch it or engage with it. Watch other type of stuff and your algorithm will change and you’ll stop seeing this stuff.

Is it self indulgent if people like @Dinaxxx are clearly watching it, and engaging with it, and driving more views to that content by speaking about it?

Yes it’s boring. Once I (briefly) watched an influencer…..putting up the blinds and filling her ice cube trays.

I laughed unfollowed and called my dsis and said….all that stuff we’ve been doing for decades is now Instagrammable

It obviously brings in views as they keep doing it. If it didn't, they'd have packed it in ages ago and gone for a different approach.
I think some people find a comfort in it. The routine, the "normal life" content -similar to ASMR. The good thing is, it's incredibly easy to just not watch it. Different strokes for different folks and all that.

interestingly it’s only ever the female creators who get this level of criticism. Men never do.

It's not as bad as those who play "pranks" on unsuspecting members of the public and then film it for content. They really annoy me.

I’ve never used Instagram or TikTok and I think my life is better for it.

It’s quite easy to adjust your feed though, the algorithm updates pretty quickly. Search a few things you are actually interested in seeing, mark a few videos you find boring as “not interested”.

Go to Settings menu > Content preferences > Reset suggested content.

If in a few days you're still seeing that shit, it's showing you what you do like to look at after all.

I enjoy Instagram but only see what interests me - no vacuous 'Influencers'. I do actually look at the stupid household hints sometimes because the comments are so funny.

I agree especially when kids are used too. But why are so many people sucking up to them and commenting shit like "Omg love this and love your family"?!
