Spanx in pregnancy

Hi all
23 weeks pregnant with my second and stupidly wore my old body sculpt dress under an outfit last weekend. Would this have harmed baby? I had it in around 6 hours. At the time I felt comfortable and my belly most certainly wasn’t hidden by the Spanx material. But I’ve had left sided rib pain since (also had a chest infection which don’t help!) I’m laying in bed worrying now a week on even though baby is moving as normal and I wasn’t faint or dizzy at the time of wearing them. Help.

Very unlikely. You’ve probably overloaded your pelvic floor more than anything with the Spanx and it’s muscular pain that you’re feeling.

However, if you’re worried, go to maternity triage, don’t even think twice about it.

Thank you so much for replying. I’ve been up since 2am googling and in a frenzy. I’m seeing the doctor again tomorrow as the pain got worse when I rolled over in bed last night. Everyone I’ve spoke to thinks it’s a pull where I’ve been coughing and probably made it worse with the spanxy dress!!!
