I would appreciate any advice.
I went to see a neurologist this week. He diagnosed trigeminal neuralgia and suggested an MRI. He also said it's worth seeing a dentist beforehand.
I saw a dentist privately and he said I have a low level infection in my top molar right where I am getting the shocks, and that the dead tooth needs to be extracted. He said that can be causing the electric shock pain I am getting in my face.
My question is shall I go ahead and get the extraction or wait till I have had my MRI? I have heard some horror stories about people having unnecessary extractions when the real problem is a vessel pressing on the nerve.
There is very little pain in my tooth.
Thank you!
