About people using jets in the spa?

I’ve been to a spa today. In the pool it had a variety of jets, including those large powerful jets that people put on their backs etc.

The entire time I was in there, people kept going to these jets and putting various parts of their body under them and causing the water to spray over everyone else in the pool. I don’t mean just a little spray, I mean full force spray right in your face. I had to keep getting out to dry my eyes on a towel. These people would even look right at you and not be bothered they were spraying you in the face.

I have used these jets before and not caused them to spray everywhere. I just found it absolutely bizarre that people would happily spray everyone else in the room when it’s meant to be relaxing at a spa. AIBU?

It's a swimming pool. Getting wet is sort of the thing, even your hair and face.

I mean, you’re in a pool, you’re going to get wet.

I wouldn’t use them and let them spray people, but that’s because I’ve been brought up to always (often to my detriment) consider other people.

Some people are arses though and don’t care about others.

By the sounds of it, you have left your spa day in a right grump! What a waste! 🤭

Alpacajigsaw · 26/10/2025 14:33

Yeah it’s quite antisocial. I’ve been in spas with these before and had to sit in the spa pool with my swim goggles on!

I don’t mind getting wet, that’s obviously part of being in a spa. It’s being sprayed in the eyes when it’s completely unnecessary that I don’t like. It is really inconsiderate of people. Obviously there are a few people who behave like that on here 😂

I always feel really zen after a spa day

Does not seem to have that impact on you OP

What must you be like on a non spa day? 😤!!!

I think you're getting a hard time here. I used to be a lifeguard until quite recently and am therefore very comfortable in water, but I wouldn't enjoy having a powerful jet of water in my face. Is it the other people just being very thoughtless or is there literally no other options if you get your body under a jet?

DickDewey · 26/10/2025 14:45

Well, it’s common courtesy not to do things that might annoy others in a shared facility. I would be annoyed if I was getting unnecessarily sprayed in the face.

pastabest · 26/10/2025 14:48

Is there a way they can be used without spraying people? Sounds like a design issue?

MumChp · 26/10/2025 14:50

I hate this and go to a spa with no jets.

JLou08 · 26/10/2025 15:18

If you're not using the jets yourself why not go to another part of the spa?
