Volunteering overseas

I’m a 57 yr old widow interested in volunteering overseas. I am happy to say that this is about my personal growth rather than the specifics of the actual service. My concerns are that I’d like to go somewhere that is not dominated by teens/ people in their early adulthood , and wondered if any middle aged women had any experience they’d be willing to share or recommendations. VSO volunteers are mature and experienced professionals if you are open to a posting of a reasonable length of time..

Would a Return to Practice then registering with Medecins Sans Frontieres/ Doctors Without Borders be a good way to go? They often need nurses. I think there are other NGOs that do this too.
