To upgrade my car

Hi everyone, currently I drive a 2009 Toyota Aygo. In case you aren't familiar with these cars, they are about as basic as it gets with very few comfort features. Mine doesn't have aircon or remote locking, it does have electric windows but they don't work properly😂the car is not as safe as a modern one and mine has been in 3 accidents and written off once (all prior to my ownership). It's very slow and tinny. But, it's really cheap to run and these cars are famously reliable, they just go on and on and mine has a very good MOT history.

Sometimes I do want a newer car and recently a friend said she didn't feel comfortable travelling long distances in mine as she doesn't feel safe in such an old car.
Yet again I'm considering a newer car but can't make up my mind. I know exactly what I want and I have some money saved, I will have to take out a small bank loan so will be about £80-100 per month paying it off. I just feel a bit guilty as my car has served me well and is mechanically very good. I have had quotes ranging from £50 to £395, so not worth a lot at all. But it is highly sentimental, being my first car and I also had it wrapped in a unique colour to hide the dodgy paintwork, so it is truly mine 😆
What should I do, move on or stick with what I have until it falls apart!

YANBU - get rid, it's shit
YABU - keep

I would keep it until it falls apart. Cars are an expensive faff. Give me a reliable shabby one any day.

Considering you’ve said it’s not as safe as modern cars and that it’s been in accidents, I’d change it. There are so many more refinements and safety features in newer cars.

I’d change it for something safer.
