Was looking at sweaters and came across this picture of the blue shorts. Should this really be online or am I being a bit OTT?

In case you don't see the issue at all, I don't think showing a child's crotch in this detail is acceptable. Am I being mad?

🙄

ChocolatesAndRainbows · 10/10/2025 14:56

You’ve just posted a picture of a child’s crotch on the internet.

Autisticburnouthell · 10/10/2025 14:56

Then why repost it?

ComfortFoodCafe · 10/10/2025 15:03

Why are you reposting it then?

ResusciAnnie · 10/10/2025 15:05

Pretty dumb to spread it even more. Cheers for making me look at a kid’s crotch!

Silvercoconut · 10/10/2025 15:06

Why repost???

PirateDays · 10/10/2025 15:07

It's just a close-up of shorts?

LaurieFairyCake · 10/10/2025 15:07

You can’t see anything you weirdo, like nothing at all. There is no vulva or camel toe on ‘display’

CoastalCalm · 10/10/2025 15:08

You’re being ridiculous

Northernlights19 · 10/10/2025 15:11

If you're uncomfortable with a normal photo of clothing, then you're very strange. The fact you're reposting it when you think there's something "wrong" about it is just creepy.

purpleme12 · 10/10/2025 15:12

I didn't think anything of it?

Just thought oh it's some shorts

Spanador · 10/10/2025 15:12

"This shouldn't be on the internet"

Proceeds to share it to a site with millions of users across the world. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it

Jeez, the irony!

Dollymylove · 10/10/2025 15:16

There's nothing really to see. If anyone wants to perv over young girls they just need to walk down any high street in any town and there they will all be with far more than that picture on show 😡

So you object to the photo so much you want us all to scrutinise it in close detail to find out exactly what it is you’re objecting to?

Honestly OP when I was on the bus earlier when the schools were coming out I passed one school girl walking down the street wearing basically a pair of knickers. All the more noticeable because all the boys were wearing long trousers and the and the rest of the girls were actually much more, in my view, decently dressed.
So the image you are so upset about is actually quite tame compared to what even young girls seem to think appropriate every day wear .

That picture doesn’t look like a child. 🤷‍♀️

HornungTheHelpful · 10/10/2025 16:43

Gosh, you’re a fun lot today.

Half seem to think it is explicit and I should be shot as a paedophile for posting it and the other half that I’m an idiot and/or a paedophile to even think that.

The reason I wanted my initial response checked was because I know I am overly sensitive to these risks for my own children. My partner is a criminal barrister and knowing the large number of “indecent images of children” cases he deals with I’m aware that I overreact to the risk. I just wanted a sense check. Next time I feel like this (assuming there is a next time) I’ll just email the company anyway and say “I might be mad but please take a look”.

And as for disseminating this further, I doubt most people looking for indecent images see mumsnet as their key hunting ground. While I wouldn’t ask for a sense check here again, I will say I don’t think I was stupid to think that fellow parents might be able to say “that’s fine, don’t overreact” or “yeah, that’s a bit off, drop them a line”.

And I have now gone on their web chat and done just that

How weird that you’ve sexualised a child in shorts.

Shegotanology · 10/10/2025 16:46

You can't be serious?

HorrorAndHaagenDazs · 10/10/2025 16:51
