That this grates on me?

My next door neighbour always dumps her glass and bottles nearly every night at this time. If im asleep then it wakes me up. Why would you choose to make a massive loud crashing noise with all your glass bottles etc every time you do it to be nearly midnight when most people are asleep???

Ask her politely do it another time? She probably just doesn't realise

Have you tried talking to her?

She’s a drinker and therefore doesn’t think about it?

If it the same time each day, then there will be a reason. She might be at work etc.
It is a one off loud noise.

Oops. I think I'm your neighbour . I'm sorry . I won't do it anymore . This thread has made me think maybe I'm being too loud at night . Thanks for posting Op. I will try be more considerate.

A poor friend of mine suffered from really horrendous tinnitus (he almost had a breakdown over it) and it was regularly set off by exactly this: clinking bottles in recycling either late or early when the noise stood out against the silence.
